You too are a genius – 7 qualities of a genius
The world has been forced to believe a definition of genius that has made them not to believe that every human is a genius by making.
We usually define a genius as a person who displays exceptional intellectual ability, creative productivity, and universality in genres or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of new advances in a domain of knowledge.
You can agree with me that the above definition is complex. That people can’t believe anymore that a genius lives in them.
Genius is not a special ability; it is a result of putting your intelligence to great use. It is a characteristic that all humans can possess but only a few are demonstrating.
You don’t have to be celebrated by the world before you can see the genius in you.
The question isn’t about being a genius, but about making use of the genius in you.
After going through these 7 qualities of a genius, you’ll find out that they are not abilities that you don’t have or can’t possess.
As simple as these qualities, some persons still would not believe that they are a genius.
Formal Education is not even a characteristic or a necessity to be a genius.
Geniuses have been studied extensively over the years. One of the most remarkable conclusions the experts have arrived at is that geniuses are not necessarily people with extraordinarily high IQs.
They are often ordinary people who use their intelligence in a superior way compared to average or even smarter people.
What this means is that you can function at genius levels if you learn to think the way that geniuses do.
So, these qualities you can easily develop and make a regular part of your thinking.
QUALITIES OF A GENIUS- The truth about a true Genius
To be open-minded means willingness to consider a wide range of possibilities in dealing with questions or problem.
In our article on factors that hinder people from using their natural intelligence, we saw that not having an open mind is a great hindrance to using your intelligence.
A genius is not limited by the way things have been but tries to embrace any possibility. Even if it contradicts experience or occurrence.
Being open-minded reduces limitations. The reason why you can’t find new ideas or solutions might be that you refuse to let go of past knowledge.
2. THEY KNOW HOW MUCH THEY DON’T KNOW
A category of people that cannot be helped is those that don’t know. Yet, do not know that they don’t know.
This category of persons is very difficult to help because they will never agree with you that they don’t know.
No one is a highland. A Genius is not somebody that can answer all questions rather is one that knows what he does not know.
You shouldn’t be afraid to say you don’t know when you know you don’t.
A lot of people always try to answer questions that they know they don’t and you can’t help but wonder when you notice how wrong and off their answers are.
A genius does not know everything, so as you and me. But the difference is that you have to know what you don’t know and also agree that you don’t know, so you can learn.
3. APPROACH PROBLEM WITH SERIES OF QUESTIONS AND QUESTIONING:
Geniuses approach problems with a series of questioning; this very act of questioning opens your mind and expands your options. It increases your creativity and stimulates your imagination.
Questioning enables you to think more effectively about the problem, and ultimately reach a better decision.
Questions help you roll over issues in your mind until a solution pop up. Children are often regarded as a genius because they always ask lots of questions.
Questioning is like a rock weathering process. It helps breakdown problem to its simplest form. So that when answers are provided to that very simple question, it makes it easier to respond correctly to the complex ones.
You see being a genius is so simple.
4. VERY ADAPTIVE
Geniuses are very adaptive, they understand their environments.
A lot of people are just part of what is going on in the world without the consciousness of how they are influenced.
When you learn about your environment, then you cannot be easily deceived. It kind of keep you informed in the way things are.
Genius understands trends because they understand the environment.
Some persons are so rigid that they turn their low tolerance and adaptation level into allergies.
Geniuses are adaptive.
5. UNDYING CURIOSITY
This is a very common and famous characteristic, especially among children.
Geniuses are known to be very curious and also always wanting to satisfy their curiosity.
Although, a lot of persons are curious about the wrong things like being curious about other people business and activity. This is a waste of curiosity. If it’s not adding to your personal growth, it’s not worth it.
A genius is always curious to learn, curious to creativity and so on.
So, channel your curiosity in the right direction, if you indeed love to see the genius in you.
6. APPROACH PROBLEMS AND DECISION SYSTEMATICALLY
Geniuses seem to approach problems and decisions systematically. They don’t throw themselves at a problem like a dog chasing a passing car.
Instead, they approach every difficult situation by asking structured questions in a logical order, like solving a problem in math.
Speed and creativity are not a function of each other. You don’t have to go fast in whatever you do. Go slow so that you can think things through as move.
Geniuses are not in haste to respond, you don’t have to be the fastest one to respond.
In class, no matter how fast every one seeks to answer the teacher’s question, there is always a difficult question that only the genius can answer.
Speed is important, but it’s effectiveness at the latter end of the story that matters most.
7. LIKE THEIR COMPANY
Geniuses always love the company of geniuses. The desire to learn and grow is a very important quality that you can’t take away from a genius.
Surround yourself with people who inspire you and unleash the genius in you.
